I paid, but the app says it is locked

Open the Setup tab, scroll to Full App Offer and tap Restore. That asks the store what you own and puts it back. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought it with — a purchase belongs to the account, not the handset.

I have changed phone

Install the app, then use Restore as above to get your unlock back. Your countdown and bucket list do not move automatically, because nothing is stored on our servers. Before leaving the old phone, go to Setup and use Save a backup, then use Restore under Backup on the new one.

My working pattern is not a normal week

Open the Work tab. If you do a nine-day fortnight, a four-on-four-off rota, or any repeating shift pattern, switch from a weekly pattern to a cycle, set how long the cycle is, tick the days you work and set the date the cycle starts from. The count updates straight away.

The numbers do not match what I expected

Check three things: the retirement date and time, your public holidays, and the leave you have booked. All of them come off the workday total. The Work tab shows the pattern it is using in plain words so you can see what it thinks you do.

The widget is not updating

Home screen widgets are refreshed by the phone rather than by the app, so there can be a delay. Opening the app updates it. If it never appears, remove the widget and add it again.

I am not getting the daily nudge

Check notifications are allowed for Retirement Countdown+ in your phone settings. If permission was refused the first time, the switch in the app cannot turn itself back on.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google rather than by us — see Terms. If something is not working, email first; most things are quicker to fix.

Something else

Email [email protected], and please say which phone you are using and what you were doing at the time. It makes problems far easier to track down.
